Topstep is a financial technology company that provides a platform for aspiring traders to access the futures markets. Founded in 2012, Topstep aims to empower traders by offering them the opportunity to trade with the firm's capital while keeping a share of the profits.
The company evaluates traders based on their skills and risk management, allowing them to trade without the need for personal capital. Topstep's mission is to democratize trading and provide a pathway for individuals to pursue their passion for financial markets.
Topstep Creative Direction
The Brief
Topstep is an iconic brand in the future prop firm space. Having created and started the industry, they command a leadership role. However, they were a little lost in their creative direction. Lacking strategy and a holistic approach to their brand they were suffering and sacrificing business.
The Focus
We went through a full brand audit. We met with the executive team and gathered a history and backstory on the business and identified the key pillar the brand was founded on. We then focused on aligning all aspects of the brand to one central directiomn
The Role
Our role was to audit what the brand had been doing wrong and then ideate and create a system that the brand could use to fix their problems moving forward. What we found was a fundamental misalignment between what the brand was internally and what was being seen externally.
The Topstep overhaul was a big lift. They are a big company with many stakeholders. The main focus and change was aligning the brand to their position in the industry. By focusing on the demographics, the brands position, it’s price we were able to identify where and how the brand should fit and feel. Once we had honest conversation and data to look at we were able to objectively align the company behind one new vision and direction.
